| Favorite CCRCS Event:
Just getting up in the air! |
Best R/C Project:
Whichever one I am working on at the time! |
| Worst Experience:
First flight, I tried it on my own. After spending all night
covering the trainer I had built from a kit, I went out with
a friend who had a pre-built aircraft, and together we were
going to learn how to fly off the ice-covered snow in a
central Idaho winter. After ½ hour freezing my fingers off
(lucky I didn’t cut any off, since I had never started an RC
engine before), we finally got my engine started. I taxied
it across the ice for about 10 seconds, and then I was off
the air and flying. It lasted 20 seconds. After we picked up
the pieces, my friend decided not to fly his. I still have
that engine, radio receiver, and the wing, but not much
else! |
| Best Experience:
First time I flew my RC heli for the whole battery charge,
and landed without a scratch! |
| Why I fly at CCRCS:
It is a very nice place to fly, taking care to avoid the
light poles! |
| My Project/Build List:
A .15 sport airplane, a .40 float plane, an old Aircore
Trainer, and an HK-450 helicopter |
| My Commentary:
I have been flying RC off and on since 1991. I am glad
to be part of a club that encourages my growth as a pilot,
and its members are always willing to lend a hand or give
advice. |
