Why I fly at CCRCS:  Light poles to aim at, but my goal continues to be missing them!  Actually, it's a great place to fly, lots of camaraderie.

My Commentary:
I started out with the control line in the 60's.  About 1969, I entered an AMA contest at a local navy airfield in Seattle.  I took first place in carrier landing with a Corsair I built and flew with the control line.  A Boeing engineer carved a prop for this plane which made it the fastest and the slowest plane in the carrier contest.

I put my hobby on hold for about 30 years and came back to it when I retired in 1993.  Since then I have enjoyed the activity.

Currently I fly on a dry lake bed in the NV desert in the winter.  Most winters the weather is mild and we can fly nearly every day.  Currently we are trying to develop a piece of land for a fly field for club members (we have 20 members).  The dry lake bed is BLM land and open to all public-non AMA members, which can be a challenge, as well as 4-wheelers who like our smooth fly field to practice donuts.
