| Worst Experience:
Introducing my soldier/son to the R/C experience, we were
flying fine until final approach from the north. I was
coming in hot and clean with my Nexstar trainer when a light
pole jumped into my path and destroyed my plane! My son
said: "Dad, I've never heard you cuss like that before!" |
| Best Experience:
When time for the maiden on the 777, I decided to go it
alone. Very exciting from build to maiden flight - and it
flew great! |
| Why I fly at CCRCS:
The field is fantastic - paved runway, good access, good
people, lots of comraderie! |
| My Project/Build List:
Have build several ARF's now, and am in work on a profile
Wildcat from Ralph Suder/Vance Mosher plans. |
| My Commentary:
As a young child, my father once introduced me to R/C
flight! He brought me a Cox Corsair, I believe. . . a
control line plane that just amazed me. Unfortunately as he
was "demonstrating" how to fly the plane, he ended up flying
it nose first into the ground. It was so sad - but it stuck
with me as an amazing time. Since then, I've spent 14 years
working with USMC jets, flew Cessnas as a private pilot, and
was re-introduced the the R/C hobby through the generosity
of my wife Holly. She did her research for three months
before settling on the HobbyZone Supercub, which she
presented to me Christmas of 2008. Looking for a place to
fly, I first met Luis Munoz at the field, and the rest is
history! |
