BOY SCOUT AVIATION DAY
Last Update:  May 16, 2011
Jim Taylor announced plans to conduct a day devoted to supporting local Boy Scouts interested in attaining their Aviation Merit Badge.  This was a day filled with instruction, flight demonstrations, and static displays at a hanger near the Portland Airport.  Read Jim's recap of the event:
Hi everyone,
The Boy Scout Aviation Day held on May 6th & 7th was a huge success. The participation by everyone was over the top, we had 144 scouts receive their Aviation Merit Badge.
The display by the Clark County Radio Control Society (www.clarkflyers.com) was a hit of the show. The club came together to produce a product that was professional, safe, family orientated and overall FUN. We had over 30 aircraft for the static display and always had airplanes/helicopters in the air during the show.
The sponsors of the event, yourself included, deserve a sincere thanks for all you do.
I hope with this coupon you chose to participate in, reaps benefits for our sport and your organization.
We had professional photographers and many media participates take pictures and will forward a website to you, for viewing.
Again, I want to stress that this club came together and represented, to the highest degree that R/C flying is a great alternative to full scale aviation.
We always are thankful for your partnership with us and look forward to future events that promote our sport.
