My regression into the good old days continues.  I have decided to try and scratch build once again.
I got a set of plans from RCM plans service of an L-19.
I have always had a sweet spot in my heart for the L-19

I heard from Alan Copper last night and he was asking if I can take my winter project a step further and explain how I am doing things. I will try to explain what I am doing as I go on in the build.
I have three primary tools that I am using too cut and shape the wood. These tools are not top of the line and are quite affordable, however patience is needed when cutting out the parts.

I have a belt/disc sander, a band saw and a scroll saw. My scroll saw came from Montgomery Wards so that should give you an idea on how old it is. My sander and band saw are both from the Home Depot.
I use the band saw to cut all the basic parts. The scroll saw is used to cut out all the windows and the former inside parts after I drill a hole in the inside part for the saw blade to slide through. The sander is used to do any finish sanding after cutting out the parts.

.
I have the fuselage sides cut
out and the upper and lower
formers cut out and ready to glue.

It is on to the fuselage formers next
