I have now finished filling and sanding the wing.  It is time to put the panel lines on now.  The way that is done is to mark the lines on the wing with a pencil and straight edge, then apply 1/32" chart tape.
Once all of the chart tape is on, it is time for the primer.  What I tried to do was to spray the primer directly over the lines, to build up that area without adding a bunch of weight to the wing by putting 6 coats of primer on the entire surface.  I ended up putting a few coats in between the lines to keep a smooth surface.

Once all of the primer coats have been added, I sanded the wing surface to really smooth it out and to remove the ridges of paint on top of the chart tape.  I kept sanding until the top of the chart tape was visible.  Then just remove the tape and it leaves a little groove where the tape was.  Simple.
The wing is now ready for painting.  I have been concentrating on the wing for the last few weeks, I
now have to go back and catch up on the fuselage.

I've installed the cockpit windows and a few misc pieces to give the plane a more scale appearance.  The dome is made out of a shaped piece of packaging plastic and a PVC pipe.  The antennae you see also doubles as the on/off switch for the battery For the paint, I decided to go with war bird colors www.warbirdcolors.com.  I ordered Olive Drab, Haze Gray, Insignia Blue, Black and White.  It is a latex paint that has a special additive (8 drops/fl. oz) that makes the paint fuel proof.

I am using 2 different spray guns to do all of the painting.  An automotive touch up sprayer and an Airbrush that I borrowed from Randy Boardman (thanks Randy).  Armed with the paint, proper tools and a few helpful hints from Dave Agar, I decided to do give it a go.
I have sprayed the base coat of the Olive Drab.  It took approx 2-3 coats.  The paint covers very evenly and sprays very well.  I was really worried about filling in the panel lines with paint, but that doesn't seem to be an issue at all.  Next I will spray the underside Haze Gray.  I am going to wait a few days between changing colors so the paint has a chance to cure before I mask it off.
